To secure planning consent for a new visitor facility on the edge of the Meadow at Christ Church, Oxford. The site is a historic landscape and lies within the Oxford City Green Belt.
To create a strong native landscape framework with long-term management proposals so that the barn-like buildings, designed by Purcell Architects, remain discreet elements within the landscape, rather than dominant features. Planning consent was unanimously granted to transform the early 19th century thatched barn into a new visitor centre with further facilities housed in contemporary extensions on either side of the original barn.
