To reorganise an existing stud farm around a new country house, creating a new main drive through the stud to the house. The location of the new house had been decided based on fine views to distant hills, but there was no obvious means of approaching and arriving at the house, and the landscape around it was low-grade marshy agricultural fields.
This is now one of the major racing stud farms in Ireland. We redesigned the paddocks and transformed the marshy landscape into a parkland approach, with framed glimpses to the house being revealed from different angles between new parkland trees and woodland blocks until finally the drive sweeps around the show paddock in front of the mansion.
