Colvin & Moggridge are proud to be the principal sponsors of an exciting contemporary photographic exhibition, opening during the London Festival of Architecture, to mark the tercentenary of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s birth.
The exhibition has been curated by Hal Moggridge and Steffie Shields, who have commissioned leading contemporary photographers to offer their ‘take’ on Browns vision.
Colvin & Moggridge have a particular interest in the work of Capability Brown having had the privilege of working on a number of his landscapes over the years beginning with Hal’s work on the restoration of Blenheim; subsequently work has included Petworth Park, Compton Verney and Hyde Park. Our relationship with Brown continues with our current work at Langley Park.
Ideas and techniques developed by Brown are still being used in the creation of new landscapes; this exhibition with over 100 photographs inspired by Capability Brown’s artistry and design will highlight the breadth and scale of his work.
The exhibition is free and takes place between 22 June -29 July at The Building Centre, Store Street, London.
